Should your stay is rather short in Amsterdam, you may preferably choose a combination tour which starts with an extensive tour of the beautiful capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, a home to one the largest historic city centres in Europe. The city is well-known for its rings of 136 canals, along which thousands of decorated merchants’ residences and warehouses that were built in the 17th century, known as the Dutch ‘Golden Age’. Amsterdam has a lot more to offer besides the canals. The guided city tour company will show his participants to a great number of interesting and remarkable sights and amazing views outside the classic city centre. The tour also includes a visit to a diamond factory.

A visit to Amsterdam and the Netherlands would not be complete without having seen the lovely Dutch countryside. The tour package that we took allowed us to see Zaanse Schans, the picturesque windmill village, with its typical green-timbered houses and warehouses. The tour company has arranged for us to visit and see a real working windmill. Next stop after the windmills was a visit to the famous and lively fishing village of Volendam. It is here that they took us to see the cheese factory/museum. We were allowed to have a lunch at Volendam traditional fish restaurant. Thereafter, the tour includes also a boat trip to or from the former island of Marken where we visited a local traditional clog maker.

What included in the package was a pick up from somewhere near the hotel, bus trip to all 3 places, boat ride and all entrances fee if charged. Lunch, shopping (mainly cheese at Volendam) and other things are at your own cost. There were 2 guides following our tour that day. Both speaks fluent English. During 5.5 hours journey, we were given a head set to listen to the important facts about Amsterdam.
