Bucharest - Glance through visited places

Date of visit: 8th & 9th April 2014

With our Romanian cab driver at the Parliament House
The Bosphor Express train arrived at Bucharest De Nord station as scheduled, i.e. 6.30pm. The first thing we did on arrival was to change our Euro money to local currency, i.e. Romanian New Leu. It was Euro0.22 for each 1 RON leu. We changed the currency according to our calculated budget and divided among us for individual shopping. Thereafter we headed to Ibis Hotel which accomodation booked since October last year. Since it was just a walking distance, we decided to walk slowly following the printed map that Anne had brought along.

So coincidentally we bumped into a homeless drug addict girl at the corner of the building before we found Ibis hotel that made us feeling so awkward and a little bit afraid to go out that evening. Hence, we spent the rest of our afternoon cooking and relaxing just in the hotel room.

The Arch of Triumph (Arcul de Triumf)

We've been reading comments and advise from the Trip Advisor of the things that you should be careful about when in Bucharest. Try avoiding the gypsy and walking on the dark street on your own. What best for us to the do the next day was hired a cab that can takes us around the city to places listed in our itinerary quickly while he waited for us and back to the hotel for check-out.

The planned differs slightly as what we found out later was that, our hotel voucher did not include a breakfast. After an arrangement was made with the hotel staff to find us a cab with charges duly agreeable by both parties, we had to go up for quick breakfast on our own in the room. By the time we finished the taxi was waiting at the lobby. Since we were allowed for late check-out, i.e. 1 pm, we decided to finish off with our POI list and come back quickly for hotel clearance.

All photos shared in this entry was the places that we visited that day. I would say that we made a right and safest choice for visiting these places in a cab. From the bottom of my heart, I wish to thank the cab driver for making things so easy and convenience to us, 4 Asian ladies.
