Do Smokers Die Younger?

Davidoff, a 20 packs cigarette promotes that “Smokes Die Younger”. The cigarettes are packed in an elegant white box where it was written “carefully selected tobaccos blended to perfection”. The processed tobacco, according to the box, contains 1mg Tar, 0.1mg nicotine, and 1 mg carbon monoxide. In a simple lay man term, it concludes that a smoker is actually a minor drug addict with a presence of nicotine. Smoking habits made a smoker addicted to it because of nicotine content and due to tobacco's flavor to the tongue.  If a heavy smoker finished 2 packs of 20 box daily, it means he/she consumes 4mg of nicotine and sharing with the surrounding people of 40mg carbon monoxide (my theory is, maybe 50% of the monoxide were inhales by the smoker and the balance were passing around when the smokes were exhaled). A killer element is a carbon monoxide contains. Formidable part of the cigarette is the addictive effect of nicotine and tobacco to a person, though it’s minor.

A dearest acquaintance of mine (photo above),  Mr Kazmi will be 68 years old on 22nd December 2012. He is married to a beautiful wife (aged 59 years old) with 3 grown-up children, a son and 2 daughters. The children’s are all married and have kids of their own. Mr Kazmi is indeed, a very lucky person.

He told me that he has been smoking since 1964 when he was a young man, 20 years old. I’ve never seen anybody smoke like him. He deeply enjoy each and every moment of the cigarette gasp and gust taking effects to his lung. Seeing this, I was always wondering whether his health might be affected due to the addiction, being a smoker for 48 long years. For the record, a heavy smoker like the late Muhammad Ali Jinah, a founder of Pakistan died due to lung cancer.

Cigarette is a process tobacco and its word originates from "cigar" added with “ette” at the back. Pure cigar is a rolled tobacco leafs which does not have a strong impact to the lung as compared with the cigarette.  Cigar smoker normally exhales out majority of the tobacco. Would it make acceptable if people choose cigar to cigarette?
