My Rose Garden

Date: 16th February 2018

There's a wise saying that a rose's rarest essence lives in the thorn. A thorn defends the rose, harming only those who would steal the blossom. Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness, know that, like life, things sometimes must fade, before they can bloom again. The rose is a flower of love. I, myself is a huge fan of roses. I used to envy those who has a huge roses tree climbed up at their house, the one that I saw while passing by in one of a beautiful house in Verona, Italy way back in 2005. Ever since then, I hope 1 day, I too be able to have them in my yard. And now those dream did come true. Almighty, thank you for the blessing, I'm indeed grateful beyond words.

This 1 has a romantic peach color came into it's pure white stalk sometime.. one of my favorite

A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae, or the flower it bears. There are over a hundred species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing or trailing with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colors ranging from white through yellows and reds. I have all those colors planted and now blooming in my rose box garden.

This one change colors from the moment it started blooming till till the last petals drop

Sadly, not all species can be plant in my garden as most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Take notice that not all roses are fragrant as you might think they are. Roses have acquired cultural significance in many societies. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. I observed that the red roses that I plant can actually climb as tall as that (7 meters). Without trimming, it has climbed to almost 3 meters at present. I'm sure with proper support and fertilizers it can grow up bigger and stronger too.

Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses. The name rose comes from French word, itself from Latin, "ROSA", which was perhaps borrowed from Oscan, from Greek, itself borrowed from the language of Old Persian, related to Avestan, Sogdian and Parthian languages. Okay, had to stop now. I'm sharing with you in this post some of their photos snapped when the petals were at its glory! full bloom! Obviously my pride and joy!

Looking for a lot more colorful roses to fill up the rose box
