Delhi, an ancient city of the Romans |
Day 2 tour is to Delphi. We were pick-up at 7.50 and about 3hrs journey to reach historical site Temple of Apollo in Delphi. It is located at about 800m above sea level, the roads are winding and too scary to look down from the bus. The town sits at 1000m above sea level, the highest peak which had an amazing view. We were also taken to the museum where sculptures and valuable items of gold, silver, bronze etc. were kept. 7000 statues were originally placed in this temple. It was brought down when the Greek converted to Christianity.
We stopped for lunch at Hnioxoe Restaurant at 2.30pm. They served us a macaroni pie, chicken mix with rice cooked in Greek recipe, salads and fruits. It was a tiring journey to the hotels. We stop for a short break to buy souvenir where I managed to change my Euro500. What a regret to bring big note. I also managed to take lovely shots of roses. The roses tree is higher than myself. What a joy to have this roses plant in my house. How I wish... I always love rose which reminded me of someone closest to my heart.
